Since I was elected, I’ve hit the ground running:

  • I’ve introduced 11 pieces of legislation

  • Cosponsored 422 pieces of legislation 

  • Returned over 1.2 Million dollars back into the pockets of my constituents through my constituent services team

  • I have taken and hosted over 700 meetings, events, and  roundtables since taking office including 322 in my district.

  • Signed over 500 policy letters, many aimed at fighting back the illegal actions of the Trump Administration

  • I have secured more than $15 million in community project funding for 20 projects through the district 

My Agenda for Southern Arizona

  • ​Protect immigrant communities and pursue comprehensive immigration reform.

    ​

    • Held the administration accountable through five oversight visits to ICE detention facilities in Arizona and Texas.

    • Supports protections for DACA recipients, including a pathway to citizenship.

    • Advocated for the release of people who do not belong in detention.

    • Sponsored legislation to protect immigrant veterans, end mandatory and family detention, phase out private detention facilities, strengthen due process, and increase accountability in immigration enforcement.

      • Veterans Visa and Protection Act ,The Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act,The Stop Excessive Force in Immigration Act , The Drain ICE Act, The Melt ICE Act, Protecting Sensitive Locations Act, H.R. 1589 - American Dream and Promise Act of 2025, The Stop Inhumane Conditions in ICE Detention Act

    • Will continue holding officials and ICE officers accountable and push for comprehensive immigration reform with a pathway to legalization.

  • ​Lower costs, raise wages, and put more money in the pockets of working Arizona families.

    • Supports policies to lower the cost of gas, groceries, housing, utilities, healthcare, and other basic needs.

    • Opposes harmful tariffs and wasteful border militarization that can increase costs and hurt small businesses.

    • Supports expanding utility, internet, and health premium assistance for families.

    • Supports increasing the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit while asking the wealthy to pay their fair share.

    • Supports the Raise the Wage Act, including an initial $17 minimum wage tied to cost-of-living increases.

    • Supports the PRO Act and workers’ right to unionize and bargain collectively.

    • Supports corporate tax reforms that discourage outsourcing jobs and profits overseas.

  • Put impacted communities first while investing in clean energy, climate resilience, water security, and good-paying jobs.

    • Supports a green jobs revolution and investments in solar, wind, battery projects, green infrastructure, and multimodal transportation.

    • Supports clean-energy incentives for Arizona households and streamlined development of clean-energy projects.

    • Will elevate the voices of rural, Latino, and Tribal communities in the transition to a clean-energy economy.

    • Supports greater accountability for corporations and utilities to protect Arizona ratepayers.

    • Supports modernizing the 1872 Mining Law, requiring royalties on minerals extracted from public lands.

    • Supports stronger environmental standards and meaningful consultation with Tribal Nations and impacted communities.

  • Protect Arizona’s water supply, communities, agriculture, and Tribal water rights.

    • Recognizes that climate change and drought continue to jeopardize the Colorado River and Arizona’s drinking water supply.

    • Opposes proposals that place the vast majority of long-term water cuts on Arizona.

    • Will continue fighting for CAP users in Arizona’s cities and towns that have reduced water use and made significant investments.

    • Will advocate for Yuma County agricultural producers and their role in America’s food supply.

    • Will continue standing with Arizona’s Tribal Nations and protecting their hard-fought water settlements.

  • Protect healthcare coverage, lower costs, and expand access to quality care.

    • Supports protecting and expanding the Affordable Care Act and extending premium assistance.

    • Supports restoring federal Medicaid funding and repealing cuts that threaten coverage for 400,000 Arizonans.

    • Supports lowering prescription drug costs and protecting existing provisions that reduce medication expenses.

    • Supports increased investment in medical research and opposing cuts to the National Institutes of Health.

    • Supports reproductive freedom and access to medication abortion and contraceptives.

    • Supports protecting Medicaid, community health centers, hospitals, and essential services including behavioral health, cancer screenings, dental care, and prenatal care.

  • Strengthen public schools, support teachers, and ensure every student has access to a quality education.

    • Supports the Right to Read Act, investing in literacy instruction, school libraries, and librarians while protecting access to diverse reading materials.

    • Supports competitive teacher pay, mentorship and preparation programs, paid family medical leave, and childcare.

    • Supports establishing a competitive national minimum salary for first-year teachers.

    • Opposes dismantling the Department of Education and supports rebuilding and properly funding it.

    • Supports federal resources and partnerships for states and local schools, particularly chronically underfunded systems like Arizona’s.

    • Supports accountability for private and charter schools and protecting the rights of students and educators.

  • Protect veterans’ benefits, healthcare, and access to the services they earned.

    • Supports protecting immigrant veterans from deportation and creating a pathway for deported veterans to return to the United States.

    • Supports expanding VA healthcare and benefits for veterans exposed to PFAS and other toxic substances.

    • Supports expanded VA dental care and benefits for surviving spouses.

    • Supports fully implementing the PACT Act for toxic-exposed veterans.

    • Opposes cuts and privatization of the Department of Veterans Affairs.

    • Will fight for additional VA resources to reduce wait times and address benefit backlogs.

    • Supports expanding education, workforce training, reintegration programs, and protecting rural hospitals and VA clinics.

  • Lower housing costs, expand affordable housing, and prevent displacement.
